Frequently Asked Questions
- Sometimes the zipper gets stuck on either the tent or the tent bag. Can I use WD-40 or some other type of lubricant on the zipper?
- We recommend that you do not use any lubricant on the zipper. A stuck zipper is often caused by dust and debris, and lubricant will act as a magnet to dust and debris. Use compressed air or wipe the zipper clean with water or solvent like denatured alcohol.
- How much weight can the Aluminum Ramps handle?
- One pair of the 8’ aluminum ramps can handle 1,500 lbs, (680 kilograms).
- How do I remove Mold/ Mildew on my tent?
- We recommend mixing 5 qt water with 1 qt white vinegar and ½ tsp laundry detergent (no bleach). Use a soft bristle brush and gently apply to area, this will kill the mold or mildew but may or may not remove the stain. When finished, allow canvas to dry completely then test area to see if an application of water repellant is necessary. Select water repellants that are silicone based like Aqua-Tite Silicone Water Repellant from Marchem.
- How should I store my Jumping Jack trailer?
- The tent bag that comes with the trailer is weather resistant, not waterproof. We recommend covering the trailer with either a waterproof tarp that will cover and hang over the sides, or purchasing a fitted Jumping Jack Trailer cover available online at www.buylifetime.com.
- How do I prevent Mold/ Mildew on my tent?
- Mold / Mildew are the result of storing your tent before it has completely dried. A short trip (such as traveling home from a vacation) with a wet tent is acceptable, but then it must be set up and allowed to completely air-dry before storage.
- Will I need to license my Jumping Jack trailer?
- This needs to be answered by your state’s DMV. Each State has their own codes. The Jumping Jack 65013 is 975 lbs,(442 kilograms). For your convenience, click on the "Trailer Registration" link above to see a list of most state DMV’s
- Do I need to water proof my tent?
- The tent is made of 13 oz mildew & water resistant marine canvas. Under normal conditions, you should never have to retreat the canvas. If tent is continuously exposed to the sun and elements the silicone based water repellant will eventually break down and a re-application of water repellant will be necessary. We recommend silicone based water repellants like Aqua-Tite Silicone Water Repellant from Marchem.
